The author calls a subset \(S\subseteq\mathbb{N}\) a Goldbach-type set if for every even integer \(n\in\mathbb{N}\) there exist \(x, y \in S\) such that \(n=x+y\). The main result of the paper is the following Theorem: Let \(k \ge 2\) be a fixed integer and let \(S=\{1\} \cup S'\) be a Goldbach-type set such that \(S' \subseteq 2\mathbb{N}\) and \(\{2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 18\} \subseteq S'\). If \(f:\mathbb{N}\to\mathbb{C}\) is a multiplicative function satisfying \[ f(x_1 + x_2 + \cdots + x_k) = f(x_1) + f(x_2) + \cdots + f(x_k) \] for any \(x_1, x_2, \ldots , x_k \in S\), then \(f\) is the identity function.
