The authors introduce and investigate some algebraic constructs that arise from the Carboncettus family of octagons \(\{C_n\}\), a new geometric construction that is based on the Fibonacci numbers. From each \(C_n\), they obtain a right infinite word \(W_n\) over the alphabet \(\{0,1\}\) which they prove to be Sturmian except when \(n=5\). They show that \(W_5\) is an infinite, purely periodic word with period 17 and periodic factor 000 100 100 010 010 01. They also calculate the limit of the \(W_n\)s. They finally conclude the paper with some suggestions for future research.
