Some important properties of lattices are packing density and full diversity, which may be good for signal transmission over both Gaussian and Rayleigh fading channel, respectively. The algebraic lattices are constructed through twisted homomorphism of some modules in the ring of integers of a number field \(\mathbb{K}\). Families of \(Z_{n}, D_{n}\) and \(A_{n}\)-lattices, \(E_{6}, E_{8}, K_{12}\) and \(\Lambda_{24}\) with full diversity and good minimum product distance are studied for transmission over Rayleigh fading channels. Following the work of \textit{E. Bayer-Fluckiger} [in: A panorama in number theory or The view from Baker's garden. Based on a conference in honor of Alan Baker's 60th birthday, Zurich, Switzerland, 1999. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 168--184 (2002; Zbl 1043.11057); Contemp. Math. 241, 69--84 (1999; Zbl 0951.11016)], the approach here is the use of algebraic number theory to construct families of \(A_{n}\)-lattices, which may have good performance for both channels. For general lattices, the packing density and the minimum product distance are usually hard to estimate (see [\textit{D. Micciancio} and \textit{S. Goldwasser}, Complexity of lattice problems. A cryptographic perspective. Boston, MA: Kluwer Academic Publishers (2002; Zbl 1140.94010)]). Those parameters can be obtained in certain cases of lattices associated with number fields through algebraic properties. In this paper, firstly some results related to number fields and algebraic lattices have been presented. Then an explicit construction of families of rotated \(A_{n}\)-lattices for \(n = 2^{r-2} - 1, r \geq 4\) via \(K = Q(\zeta_{2r} + \zeta_{2r}^{-1})\) is given. Closed-form expressions for the minimum product distance of these lattices have also been given. Finally, a comparison between normalized minimum product distance and center density of \(Z_{n}, D_{n}\) and \(A_{n}\)-lattices is given.
