In the paper under review, the author investigates the Katz-Sarnak conjecture regarding the behavior the zeros of a family \(\mathcal{F}\) of automorphic \(L\)-functions which should be well-modeled by the eigenvalues of the corresponding classical compact group, as the conductor \(Q \to \infty\). More precisely, assuming the Riemann hypothesis, the results are restricted for the one level density case only. Actually, for each type of symmetry, the author finds the optimal test function \(\phi\), and gives very explicit descriptions for the small support. Then, one primary application is to give bounds for the average order vanishing at the central point and this is the subject of the explicit computations of the paper.
