Let \(F(x,y)\) be a binary form with integer coefficients, non-zero discriminant and degree \(d>3\), and let \(\mathrm{Aut} F\) be the \(\mathbb Q\)-automorphism group of \(F\); that is, the finite subgroup of \(\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathbb Q)\) consisting of matrices \(M= \left( \begin{smallmatrix} s & u\\ t & v \end{smallmatrix} \right)\) such that \[ F(sx+uy,tx+vy)=F(x,y). \] This group plays a role in the analysis of solutions of the Thue equation \(F(x,y)=h\), where \(h\) is a fixed integer. For infinitely many integers \(h\), this equation has at least \(|\mathrm{Aut} F|\) primitive solutions. \textit{C. L. Stewart} and \textit{S. Y. Xiao} [Math. Ann. 375, 133--163 (2019; Zbl 1464.11035)] proved that the number of integers of absolute value at most \(Z\) that are represented by \(F\) is asymptotic to \(C_FZ^{2/d}\) for some positive number \(C_F\), which can be computed as \(C_F=W_FA_F\), where \(W_F\) is an explicit function of \(\mathrm{Aut} F\), and \(A_F\) is the area of the fundamental region of \(F\). Using results of \textit{M. A. Bean} [Math. Comput. 66, 1269--1293 (1997; Zbl 0886.65153)] and \textit{C. Hooley} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 521, 185--240 (2000; Zbl 0989.11019)], \textit{S. Y. Xiao} computed \(\mathrm{Aut} F\), \(W_F\) and \(C_F\) in the case when \(F\) is a cubic or quartic form [J. Théor. Nombres Bordx. 31, 323--341 (2019; Zbl 1478.11061)]. In the present paper, the author computes these quantities for four families of binary forms: the homogenizations of the minimal polynomials of \(2\cos(\frac{2\pi}{n})\) and \(2\sin(\frac{2\pi}{n})\), and the homogenizations of Chebyshev polynomials of first and second kinds.
