Families of cyclic cubic fields and quartic fields with explicit units have been studied by many authors, we can refer to the references in this paper under review. In this paper, the authors study the congruences \(f^3+ g^3+1 \equiv 0 \pmod{fg}\) and \(f^4-4g^2+4 \equiv 0 \pmod{fg}\) in polynomials \(f, g\) with rational coefficients. Moreover, they present results of computations of all integer points on certain one parametric curves of genus 1 and 3, related to cubic and quartic fields, respectively. The approach is based on Gröbner basis techniques and they provide numerical results based on it. The authors mainly deal with the case \(\deg f \leq 2\) and prove that there are no new families of cyclic cubic nor cyclic quartic fields. In case of cyclic quartic fields, they obtain a new polynomial that was not discovered by \textit{S. Balady} and \textit{L. C. Washington} [Acta Arith. 187, No. 1, 43--57 (2019; Zbl 1442.11141)], it is given by \(t^4 + 7890798742t^3 - 37333446t^2 + 38618t + 1\).
