\textit{M. Valdivia} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 35, 149--168 (1987; Zbl 0625.46006)] introduced the class of quasi-LB locally convex spaces as a simple and elegant alternative to De Wilde's concept of webbed spaces presented, e.g., in [\textit{M. De Wilde}, Closed graph theorems and webbed spaces. London-San Francisco-Melbourne: Pitman (1978; Zbl 0373.46007)]. A locally convex space \(X\) is quasi-LB if there is a family of unit balls \(B_\alpha\) of continuously embedded Banach spaces for \(\alpha\in\mathbb N^{\mathbb N}\) such that \(B_\alpha\subseteq B_\beta\) if \(\alpha\le\beta\) for the coordinate-wise partial order of \(\mathbb N^{\mathbb N}\) and \(X=\bigcup\{B_\alpha: \alpha\in\mathbb N^{\mathbb N}\}\). This class has very good stability properties and serves for closed graph, open mapping, and lifting theorems beyond the classical case of Fréchet spaces. The present article gives rather technical variants of Valdivia's results where some hypotheses (e.g., for the domain in the closed graph theorem with quasi-LB codomain) can be weakened since crucial steps of Valdivia's arguments use extra assumptions.
