Let \(X\) be a compact connected Kähler manifold and let \(Y\) be a connected non-singular hypersurface in \(X\) with topologically trivial normal bundle \(N_{Y/X}\). Under some natural assumptions the author proves a series of statements concerning the complex analytic structure of the complement \(X\setminus Y\). For example, if the line bundle on \(X\) corresponding to the effective divisor \(Y\) is \(C^\infty\)-semipositive he shows that the pair \((Y,X)\) is of type infinity in the sense of Ueda (see [the author, Nagoya Math. J. 238, 104--136 (2020; Zbl 1440.32006); \textit{T. Ueda}, J. Math. Kyoto Univ. 22, 583--607 (1983; Zbl 0519.32019)]). Next, if \(X\) is a complex manifold and \(Y\) is a non-singular compact hypersurface with unitary flat normal bundle such that \(N_{Y/X}^m\) is holomorphically trivial for some \(m>0\), then there exists a neighborhood \(V\) of \(Y\) and a holomorphic function \(f\colon V \rightarrow \mathbb C\) such that the pull-back of the divisor \(\{0\}\) of \(\mathbb C\) by \(f\) coincides with \(mY\). The author also establishes an analogue of the statement from [\textit{T. Ohsawa}, Ann. Pol. Math. 106, 243--254 (2012; Zbl 1262.32013)], which asserts that a Hartogs-type extension theorem holds on \(X\setminus Y\) if the normal bundle admits a smooth Hermitian metric such that its Chern curvature is positive semi-definite and not identically zero, and some other similar assertions.
