Exactly on June 8, 1962, the Mathematical Society of the German Democratic Republic (i.e. the part of Germany after the World War II, in 1945, under Soviet rule) was established. A the end of 1990, that Society became integrated within the German Mathematical Society (Deutsche Mathematiker-Vereinigung) at the moment where West Germany and East Germany were unified. The paper describes the weal and woe of the MGDDR in (certainly sufficient) detail; the interested reader will be well informed after his reading of the paper. But not only that. The time from 1945 until 1962 has been filled in the German Democratic Republic with various society-like gatherings of mathematics and its mathematicians, the author has to be praised in working-out those things in the paper. The German text of the paper deserves a translation into English language somewhere. The paper ends with a list of files, consulted by the author.
