The author generalizes the mod \(k\) index theorem of [\textit{M. F. Atiyah} et al., Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 79, 71--99 (1976; Zbl 0325.58015)] to the case of Spin\(^c\) Dirac operators twisted by finitely generated projective Hilbert modules over a unital separable \(C^*\)-algebra. The result is a higher index theorem for noncommutative mod \(k\) spectral flow. The author outlines some of the applications, including to the case of the Miščenko line bundle and to \(\mathbb R /\mathbb Z\) index theory.
