The linear forms in logarithms method can be used in different topics of mathematics and here in the paper under review, we see an effective use of this. Let us denote the trace of the Hecke operator acting on the space \(\mathcal{S}_{2k}(\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z}))\) of cusp forms of weight \(2k\) and level one by \(\mathrm{Tr} \,T_2(2k, \mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z}))\). Then in the paper under review, the authors show that there are no repeated values in the sequence \(\{\mathrm{Tr}\, T_2(2k, \mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z}))\}_{k \geq 2}\), except for \(0\), which only occurs trivially when \(k<6\) or \(k=7\). The proof is based on the Eichler-Selberg trace formula, some calculations on \(p\)-adic analysis and finally the linear forms in logarithms.
