The authors introduce various notions of almost uniform and almost everywhere convergence in Haagerup \(L^p\)-spaces over an arbitrary von Neumann algebra, using spectral projections of the operators in the sequence under consideration. These are first demonstrated in the case of a semifinite von Neumann algebra. The efficacy of the definitions is demonstrated by the proof of a suitable monotone convergence theorem. A different approach to almost uniform and almost everywhere convergence in noncommutative function spaces can be found in [\textit{C. Anantharaman-Delaroche}, Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 135, No. 4, 520--546 (2006; Zbl 1106.46047)].
