Existence of minimal models and termination of flips are important conjectures in the minimal model program. This paper studies the relation between the existence of birational weak Zariski decompositions and existence of log terminal models. The main result says that the birational weak Zariski decomposition conjecture for g-pairs in dimension \(\le d\) is equivalent to the minimal model conjecture for g-pairs in dimension \(\le d\). Such inductive result was proved by \textit{C. Birkar} [Math. Ann. 354, No. 2, 787--799 (2012; Zbl 1255.14016)] for usual pairs, and this paper used some ideas in [loc. cit.]. By considering g-pairs (generalized pairs), this paper can remove some technical assumptions on lower dimension in Birkar's result. It answers a question of \textit{C. Birkar} and \textit{Z. Hu} [Nagoya Math. J. 215, 203--224 (2014; Zbl 1314.14028)]. The second result reduces the existence of log minimal models for dlt g-pairs to the termination of flips for usual pairs, and the third result reduces the termination of MMP with scaling of ample divisors to the existence of birational weak Zariski decomposition.
