In this paper, the authors study the unique solvability of a generalized hybrid dynamical system, which consists of a history-dependent hemivariational inequality of parabolic type and a nonlinear evolution equation, by using a surjectivity of multivalued \(L\)-pseudomonotone operators and fixed point theorems for history-dependent operators. As an application of the obtained result, the authors consider a dynamic frictional contact problem for viscoelastic materials, where adhesion is investigated. The obtained results are new and generalize some results in the literature, which can be used to study some problems in contact mechanics.
