In this paper, the authors study the following generalized periodic boundary value problem \[ \left\{\begin{array}{lc} -x''-B_0(t)x+B_1(t)x=\lambda \nabla V(t,x), & a.e.\ t\in[0,1], \\ x(1)=Mx(0),\, x'(1)=Nx'(0) , & \end{array}\right.\tag{1} \] where \(\lambda>0,\,B_0(t),\,B_1(t)\in L^\infty([0,1], L_s(\mathbb{R}^n) ),\,\) \( M,N\in GL(n)=\{A=(a_{jk})_{n\times n}|a_{jk}\in \mathbb{R}\ \text{and}\det(A)\neq0 \}\) with \(MN^T=I_n\), \(I_n\) is the unit matrix of order \(n\), \(\nabla V(t,x)\) denotes the gradient of \(V(t,x)\) for \(x\in \mathbb{R}^n.\) By using a Ricceri type multiple critical points theorem, they prove the existence of infinitely many solutions for problem (1). As a special case, they obtain two corollaries for the existence of infinitely many periodic solutions of second-order Hamiltonian systems.
