This paper is dedicated to the study of the curvature restricted geometric properties admitted by the Melvin magnetic spacetime metric. As we know very well, the Melvin metric can be obtained as a solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations of general relativity and also represents a cylindrical magnetic universe. The authors consider a Melvin-type static, cylindrically symmetric spacetime metric in Weyl form. One of the main results of this paper is that such a metric, in general, is of generalized Roter type. Also, they prove that this metric has pseudosymmetric Weyl conformal tensor satisfying a special pseudosymmetric type condition and that condition was obtained in this paper. Finally the authors observe that the Melvin magnetic metric is pseudosymmetric due to the conformal tensor and also is 2-quasi-Einstein, its Ricci tensor is Riemann compatible and Weyl conformal 2-forms are recurrent.
