The authors investigate the possibility of controlling the solid by means of a boundary control acting on the fluid. The case of a two-dimensional irrotational perfect incompressible fluid is considered. The impulse control strategy is used to solve the problem of moving from a given initial position and speed of a rigid body to an end position in a given time interval. The work is distinguished by the demonstration of a high mathematical level while solving an interesting control problem.
