Geometry of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of locally product Riemannian manifolds (Q2174619)

The authors introduce the notion of pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of locally product Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of pointwise slant submanifolds of almost Hermitian manifolds defined by \textit{B.-Y. Chen} and \textit{O. J. Garay} [Turk. J. Math. 36, No. 4, 630--640 (2012; Zbl 1269.53059)] and of pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of Kähler manifolds defined by \textit{B. Şahin} [Port. Math. (N.S.) 70, No. 3, 251--268 (2013; Zbl 1287.53049)]. Such submanifolds possess a pair of orthogonal distributions. The authors characterize when these distributions are integrable and when totally geodesic. They give special attention to those pointwise semi-slant submanifolds which are warped products and, in addition, construct several examples.
