The \emph{porous medium equation} described as \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = \Delta(\vert u \vert^{m-1}u),\; u=u(x,t),\; t>0,\; x\in \mathbb{R}^n \; \text{and}\; m>1 \] is the nonlinear heat equation which appears in the description of different natural phenomena such as processes involving fluid flow, heat transfer or diffusion (see, e.g., [\textit{J. L. Vázquez}, The porous medium equation. Mathematical theory. Oxford: Oxford University Press (2007; Zbl 1107.35003)] for a very complete treatment of this classical equation). In a previous work, two of the authors of the present article initiated the study of this nonlinear equation in the corresponding \(p\)-adic context (see [\textit{A. Yu. Khrennikov} and \textit{A. N. Kochubei}, J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 24, No. 5, 1401--1424 (2018; Zbl 1401.35165)]). They studied the porous medium equation \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}+ D^\alpha(\varphi(u))=0,\; u=u(t,x),\; t>0,\; x\in \mathbb{Q}_p, \] where \(\mathbb{Q}_p\) is the locally compact field of \(p\)-adic numbers, \(D^\alpha\, (\alpha>0)\) is the well known Vladimirov's fractional differentiation operator and \(\varphi\) is a strictly monotone increasing continuous real function (see e.g. [\textit{V. S. Vladimirov} et al., \(p\)-adic analysis and mathematical physics. Singapore: World Scientific (1994; Zbl 0812.46076)] for a detailed description of the elements of \(p\)-adic analysis and Vladimirov's operator). Using an \(L^1\)-theory of Vladimirov's operator, the authors obtained the existence and uniqueness of a mild solution. In this interesting article, the authors extend the theory and prove a similar result for a certain multidimensional nonlinear equation similar to the above one, replacing \(D^\alpha\) with a more general nonlocal operator \(W\).
