The authors study the existence of mild solutions for the periodic boundary value problem of impulsive fractional evolution equations of the form \[ ^{c}D_{0^{+}}^{\alpha}u(t)+Au(t)=f(t,u(t),u(t)),\] with \(t\in [0,1]\), \(t\neq t_{j}\), \(j=1,2,\ldots,m\), \(\Delta u\big|_{t=t_{j}}=I_{j}(u(t_{j}))\) and \(u(0)=u(1)\) in an ordered Banch space \(\left(E, \left\|\cdot\right\|,\preceq \right)\) whose positive cone \(P:=\left\{x\in E: x\succeq 0\right\}\) is normal. Here \(^{c}D_{0^{+}}^{\alpha}\) is the Caputo fractional derivative of order \(\alpha\in (0,1]\) with the lower limit zero, \(A:\mathrm{D}(A)\subset E\rightarrow E\) is a uniformly bounded operator, \(-A\) generates an analytic semigroup in \(E\), and \(f\in \mathrm{C}\left([0,1]\times E\times E, E \right)\), \(I_{j}\in \mathrm{C}\left(E, E\right)\) is an impulsive function. Under appropriate conditions, the authors achieve their main results (Theorems 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3) concerning the existence of minimal and maximal mild solutions. Examples of parabolic type partial differential equations where the abstract results can be applied are also included.
