This paper is concerned with the study of a nonlinear Robin problem driven by the \(p\)-Laplace operator plus an indefinite potential. The reaction is the sum of a parametric strictly \((p-1)\)-sublinear term and a nonlinearity with \((p-1)\)-linear growth. The authors first establish an interesting bifurcation-type theorem describing the dependence of the set of positive solutions on the positive parameter. Next, it is studied the existence of a smallest positive solution and there are also established related continuity properties. The proofs combine refined analytic, variational and topological methods.
