The authors consider convex bodies \(K\subset \mathbb{R}^{d}\), with \(d\in \{2,3\}\) and provide criteria for finding extrinsic diametral points of this kind of sets. Criteria for finding intrinsic diametral points in convex surfaces \(S = bd(K) \subset \mathbb{R}^{3}\) are also proved. The criteria are expressed in terms of upper bounds on the sum of the complete angles at 1, 2, or 3 points. It is shown that this kind of criteria cannot be obtained for \(n \geq 4\) points. The authors prove that, in some cases, the endpoints of extrinsic and intrinsic diameters of convex bodies and surfaces can be found in the same set.
