The author presents an inequality between the resolvent and the characteristic determinant for a class of operators acting on a Banach space. He shows that, if \(A\) is a compact operator on a Banach space \(X\) satisfying \(N_W(A)=\sum_{k=1}^nx_k(A)<\infty\), in which \(x_k(A)\) are the Weyl numbers of \(A\), and all eigenvalues \(\lambda_k(A)\) of \(A\) are different from \(1\), then \[|(I_X-A)^{-1}\det(I_X-A)|\leq c(1+cx_2(A))^3\prod_{k=3}^\infty(1+cx_k(A))^2,\] where \(c=\sqrt{2e}\), and then obtains some spectrum perturbations.
