Flag varieties are important projective varities whose study is intimately related with areas as commutative algebra, representation theory of algebraic groups, and combinatorics [\textit{V. Lakshmibai} and \textit{J. Brown}, Flag varieties. An interplay of geometry, combinatorics, and representation theory. 2nd edition. Singapore: Springer; New Delhi: Hindustan Book Agency (2018; Zbl 1416.14001)]. Projective normality is an algebraic property of a projective variety that is stronger than normality and it depends of how the variety is embedded in a projective space [\textit{R. Hartshorne}, Algebraic geometry. Corr. 3rd printing. New York, NY: Springer (1983; Zbl 0531.14001)]. Combinatorial methods have been used to prove projective normality in this context, e.g. [\textit{B. J. Howard}, J. Algebra 312, No. 1, 527--541 (2007; Zbl 1129.14064)]. In the present paper, among several things, for \(G=SL(n,\mathbb{C})\) and \(T\) a maximal torus in \(G\), it is shown that the torus quotient \(X=T\backslash\backslash(G/P_1\cap P_2)_T^{ss}(\mathcal{L})\) is projectively normal for a certain line bundle \(\mathcal{L}\), and where \(P_1\) and \(P_2\) are maximal parabolic subgroups of \(G\) associated to distinct simple roots. Standard monomial theory, together with Petersen-2-factor and König theorems (which guarantee the existence of a perfect matching in a regular bipartite graph) are used to conclude that the homogeneous coordinate ring of \(X\) is generated in degree one as a \(\mathbb{C}\)-algebra [\textit{C. S. Seshadri}, Introduction to the theory of standard monomials. 2nd edition, reprint of the 2014 paperback edition. New Delhi: Hindustan Book Agency; Singapore: Springer (2016; Zbl 1345.14002); \textit{J. Akiyama} and \textit{M. Kano}, Factors and factorizations of graphs. Proof techniques in factor theory. Berlin: Springer (2011; Zbl 1229.05001)].
