The author provides some answers to the Zariski multiplicity conjecture for families of singular surfaces in \(\mathbb C^3\) with non-isolated singularities, under the condition that the family has a smooth normalization. The results apply to parametrized families of surfaces, whose parametrization \(F: (\mathbb C^2 \times \mathbb C,0) \to (\mathbb C^3 \times \mathbb C,0)\) is a 1-parameter unfolding of an \(\mathcal A\)-finitely determined map-germ \(f: (\mathbb C^2,0) \to (\mathbb C^3,0).\) Conditions are given for a topologically trivial 1-parameter unfolding \(F\) of a weighted homogeneous corank 1 map-germ \(f\) to be equimultiple.
