Let \(\Lambda\) be a finite-dimensional algebra and \(M\) be a finite-dimensional left \(\Lambda\)-module. \(M\) is called faithfully balanced if it is a faithful module with the double centralizer property. Faithfully balanced modules appear in various places in the literature on ring theory and representation theory. Two important classes of faithfully balanced modules are (co)tilting modules and (co)generators. Let \(G\) be a generator, \(H\) be a cogenerator and \(F\) be an additive subbifunctor of \(\mathrm{Ext}^{1}_{\Lambda}(-, -)\) of the form \(F=F_G=F^H\) (equivalently, consider the exact structure on finite-dimensional \(\Lambda\)-modules induced by the functor \(F\)). The authors define \(1\)-\(F\)-faithful modules as a relative version of faithfully balanced modules and study their properties. They prove relative versions of the (higher) Auslander correspondence, Auslander-Solberg correspondence and Brenner-Butler theorem, which are important correspondences in representation theory. This gives a unification of the (co)tilting theory and (higher) Auslander correspondence in the classical case.
