This paper presents a regularizing and smoothing technique of the cost non-smooth function, with a focus on non-Euclidean proximal distances of Bregman type. The purpose of this paper is to study the properties of the D-Moreau envelope and D-proximal operator in general Banach spaces and to construct a smooth version of the function having the same minimizers in infinite spaces. It is the core of a major minimization method, known as the proximal point algorithm with Bregman distance. The results observed in this paper extend and complete several classical results, which contribute to the development of this branch of convex analysis.
