The authors study the thermodynamic properties of two black hole solutions representing spherically symmetric spacetime geometry with line element \[ ds^2=-fdt^2+\frac{dr^2}{f}+r^2d\Omega^2 \] in which \(d\Omega^2\) is an element of solid angle. Each black hole solution is given by the corresponding function \(f=f(r)\). In general, the event horizon is located at \(r=r_+\) which is the largest root of the equation \(f(r)=0\), and the Hawking temperature of the black hole is given by \(T=f'(r_+)/4\pi\), where the prime denotes differentiation with respect to \(r\). The black hole's mass \(M\) enters \(f\) as a parameter so one can use these formulas to compute the heat capacity of a black hole \(C=\partial M/\partial T\). The entropy of the black hole is given by \(S_+=\pi r_+^2\). The first-order correction to entropy related to the thermal heat capacity (THC) is expressed as \[ S_{\mathrm{THC}} = S_+-\frac{1}{2}\ln CT^2 \] while \[ S_{\mathrm{CFT}}=S_+-\frac{1}{2}\ln S_+T^2 \] where CFT stands for conformal field theory (CFT) [\textit[P. Pradhan, ``Enthalpy, geometric volume and logarithmic correction to entropy for Van-der-Waals black hole'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1610.05753}]. In the paper under review, the authors compute and plot \(M\), \(T\), \(C\), \(S_{\mathrm{THC}}\), \(S_{\mathrm{CFT}}\) and \(S_{\mathrm{THC}}/S_{\mathrm{CFT}}\) as functions of \(r_+\) for the Reissner-Nordström black hole and the Bardeen AdS black hole in the presence of quintessence.
