This paper considers a two-variable differential equation model for the glucose-insulin regulatory system. Two constant delays are included, giving a pair of coupled nonlinear delay-differential equations. Assuming that one delay is an integer multiple of the other, conditions for a Hopf bifurcation are found. A perturbation analysis around such a bifurcation gives expressions for the period and amplitude of the nearby periodic orbit in terms of all parameters in the equations. The results match well with the results of full numerical simulations.
