This paper is focused on the Arnold diffusion process of integrable Hamiltonian systems under small Hamiltonian perturbations. It provides a semi-analytic model which predicts the extremely slowtime evolution of the action variables along the resonances via a (quasi-)stationary-phase approach. The authors propose a detailed analysis of the Nekhoroshev normal form and provide analytical approximations to the Melnikov integrals of terms with stationary or quasi-stationary phases. The theoretical results are applied to an example with three degrees of freedom, providing the speed of Arnold diffusion, as well as representation of the evolution of the action variables.
