Let \(H\) be a separable Hilbert space and let \(B(H)\) be the space of bounded linear operators on \(H\). An operator \(T\in B(H)\) is called quasi-2-expansive if \[ T^{*3}T^3-2T^{*2}T^2+T^*T\le 0. \] This is an extension of the notion \(2\)-expansive operators (\(T^{*2}T^2-2T^{*}T+I\le 0\)), introduced in [\textit{S. Jung} et al., Stud. Math. 213, No. 1, 3--23 (2012; Zbl 1275.47037)]. After giving some basic properties of this class of operators, the authors prove that the spectrum \(\sigma\) is continuous as a mapping from the set of quasi-2-expansive operators into the set of compact subsets of the complex plane, equipped with the Hausdorff metric. They establish that such operators satisfy Weyl's theorem. Finally, they show that a quasi-2-expansive operator can be neither \(n\)-supercyclic nor weakly hypercyclic.
