The author discusses two well-known ideas in dynamical systems theory of A. Poincaré. The first idea is the recurrence theorem for the case of long repetition times. The author shows that this theorem can be an effective tool for studying complex dynamics in resonant zones of Hamiltonian systems. This phenomenon is associated with the existence of quasi-traps. As an illustration of the use of recurring phenomena, the author considers 2:2:3 Hamiltonian resonances in the region close to a stable equilibrium. The second idea deals with periodic solutions of Hamiltonian dynamical systems. If a periodic solution has more than two zero-characteristic exponents, this indicates the existence of an integral in addition to the energy integral. The author applies this idea to study systems with two and three degrees of freedom.
