A group \(G\) is freely indecomposable if there does not exist a free decomposition of \(G\) via two nontrivial free factors. For a given cardinal \(k\), a group \(G\) is \(k\)-free if each subgroup of \(G\) generated by fewer than \(k\) elements is a free group. For certain uncountable cardinals \(k\), the author produces a group of cardinality \(k\) which is freely indecomposable, strongly \(k\)-free, and whose abelianization is free abelian of rank \(k\).
