The article provides a construction of three measures of noncompactness (MNC), \(\mu_a\), \(\mu_b\), \(\mu_c\), in the space \(BC([0,\infty),E)\) of bounded continuous functions defined on the closed halfline and with values in a Banach space \(E\). Let \(\mu\) be an MNC in \(E\). Let \(X\) be a bounded subset of \(BC([0,\infty),E)\). Denote \(\varpi(X) := \lim_{\epsilon\to 0} \sup_{x\in X} \sup \{\|x(t)-x(s)\|: |t-s|\leq \epsilon, t,s\geq 0\} + \lim_{T\to\infty} \sup_{t\in[0,T]} \mu(\{x(t): x\in X\}).\) (The first summand takes care of quantifying continuity and could be called modulus of uniform continuity. The second summand quantifies noncompactness of an infinite strip in which the graphs of functions lie.) Further, denote \(a(X) := \lim_{T\to\infty} \sup_{x\in X} \sup_{t\in[T,\infty)} \|x(t)\|\), \(b(X) := \lim_{T\to\infty} \sup_{x\in X} \sup_{t,s\in[T,\infty)} \|x(t)-x(s)\|\), \(c(X) := \limsup_{T\to\infty} \sup_{x,y\in X} \|x(T)-x(T)\|.\) (These quantities, roughly speaking, take care of the joint behaviour of functions at infinity.) The announced three MNCs are defined as follows: \(\mu_d := \varpi + d\) for \(d\in\{a,b,c\}\). The application of those measures is given for \(E=\ell^{\infty}\) within the theory of infinite systems of Volterra-Hammerstein integral equations. Finally, note that, for general (not necessarily sequential) Banach spaces \(E\) which obey suitable geometry, there exist more general results concerning the existence of solutions to integral equations of Volterra type; see, for instance, [\textit{R. Pietkun}, ``Existence of solutions for a class of multivalued functional integral equations of Volterra type via the measure of nonequicontinuity on the Fréchet space \(C(\Omega, E)\)'', J. Comput. Appl. Math. 380, Article ID 112970, 30 p. (2020; \url{doi:10.1016/j.cam.2020.112970})].
