A finite \(p\)-group \(G\) is called a \(\mathsf{NDC}\)-group if, for every normal subgroup \(N\) of \(G\), \(G'/(G' \cap N)\) or \(N /(N\cap Z(G))\) is cyclic. In the paper under review, the authors investigate some properties of \(\mathsf{NDC}\)-groups. In particular they prove Theorem 3: Let \(G\) be a \(\mathsf{NDC}\)-group. Then \(G'Z(G)/Z(G)\) is cyclic or \(G'Z(G)/Z(G)\simeq C_{p}^{3}\) or \(G'Z(G)/Z(G)\simeq C_{p^{m}} \times C_{p}\) for some positive integer \(m\). They also describe some others properties of \(p\)-groups with small derived subgroups using capable \(p\)-groups with small generating systems.
