This paper deals with the following linear Volterra-Fredholm integral equation of the second kind: \[ \lambda u(x)=f(x)+\int\limits_{a}^{x}k_1(x,s)u(s)ds+\int\limits_{a}^{b}k_2(x,s)u(s)ds, \quad a\le x\le b, \] where \(\lambda \in \mathbb{R}\setminus\{0\}\) is a known constant, \(f(x), k_1(x, s), k_2(x, s)\) are known continuous functions, and \(u(x)\in C[a, b]\) has to be determined. The approximate solution of this equation is obtained by constructing a uniquely solvable system of linear algebraic equations. The convergence order of the suggested scheme is discussed using spline function theories. Several convergence order theorems are obtained. In conclusion, two numerical examples are provided for the cases of oscillating and nonoscillating exact solutions.
