\textit{A. R. Freedman} et al. [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. 37, 508-520 (1978, Zbl 0424.40008)] introduced the notion of \(N_{\theta}\)-convergence of real sequences. The authors of this paper use the ideal version of this convergence, called \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-convergence, to introduce and study \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-ward continuity, \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-sequential continuity, \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-quasi-Cauchy sequences and \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-ward compactness. It is shown that the method \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\) is regular and subsequential. An \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-ward continuous function on an \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-ward compact subset of the real line is uniformly continuous. A uniform limit of a sequence of \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-ward continuous functions is also \(N_{\theta}(\mathcal I)\)-ward continuous.
