The authors consider a nonautonomous delay differential inequality of the form \[ y'(t) \geq a(t)f[(t-t_0)],\quad t \geq 0, \] \[ y(t)= \psi (t),\quad -t_0 \leq t \leq 0, \] and obtain various criteria for the solutions of the differential inequality to blow up in a finite time. These results are extended to the corresponding system of nonautonomous delay differential inequalities. Next they consider a nonautonomous differential inequality with advanced arguments and develop criteria for any solution of the inequality to blow up in finite time. Again, these results are studied for a system of nonautonomous differential inequlities with advanced arguments. Finally they obtain necessary criteria for the solution of a differential equation involving delay to obtain a solution that blows up in finite time.
