Some remarks on Greenberg-Pierskalla subdifferentiability of quasiconvex functions (Q2189637)

Although in dimension 1 every quasiconvex (qc) function is Greenberg-Pierskalla subdiffentiable (GPsd), for higher dimensions this is not so for evenly qc, nor for lower semicontinuous qc. However any qc function on \(R^d\) that is upper semicontinuous on all segments of its domain is shown to be GPsd there. This may be used for surrogate duality in quasiconvex programming. Several extensions of former results to separated topological vector spaces are also derived, provided that certain sublevel sets are evenly convex. The quasimonotonicity of the GP subdifferential is also investigated in this context.
