The Gauss-Kuzmin theorem is one of the most important results in the metric theory of continued fractions. The present article is devoted to the Gauss-Kuzmin theorem for a certain type of continued fraction expansions of numbers in \([0,1)\). These representations were introduced by \textit{H.-C. Chan} [Fibonacci Q. 44, No. 1, 73--84 (2006; Zbl 1204.11032)] and are ``related to random Fibonacci type sequences as a generalization of classical continued fraction, whose digits are differences of consecutive non-positive integer powers of an integer \(l \ge 2\)''. In this paper, explanations and brief surveys are devoted to the considered expansions and the two-dimensional Gauss-Kuzmin theorem for various continued fraction expansions. The author explains that the purpose of this paper is to contribute a solution to two-dimensional Gauss-Kuzmin theorem for the considered type of continued fraction expansions, and also is to apply some technique described in several researches to modify numerically corresponding convergence rate for the case \(2 \le l \le 257\). Section 3 deals with ``constructing the natural extension [\textit{H. Nakada}, Tokyo J. Math. 4, 399--426 (1981; Zbl 0479.10029)] of the measure-dynamical system and giving the stochastic property of the sequence of extended partial quotients underlying the considered expansions''. Section 4 is devoted to ``the Perron-Frobenius operator of \(\tau_l\) under its invariant measure on the Banach space of functions of bounded variation and study the significant properties of this type of operatoras the popularity of relevant results in [\textit{M. Iosifescu} and \textit{G. I. Sebe}, AIP Conf. Proc. 835, 90--109 (2006; Zbl 1366.11091)]''. In Section 5, there are ``the quest for a two-dimensional Gauss-Kuzmin theorem for the considered expansions and the decision of specific lower and upper bounds for the error term considered which imply the optimal convergence rate of the distribution function involved to its limit for the case \(2 \le l \le 257\). To this end, its first subsection serves to deal with the Gauss-Kuzmin theorem for the natural extension \(\tau_l\), while in its second subsection, we tentatively pay attention to this optimal convergence rate which is approached as a purposeful refinement via the characteristic properties of associated transfer operator in Section 4.'' In addition, several auxiliary statements are proven and concluding remarks are given.
