The author of this article considers the question whether the generalized Schrödinger operator \(T(D)+V\) in \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\) with decaying potential \(V\) can have eigenvalues that are embedded in the continuous spectrum. Here, \(T(D)\) is the tranlation-invariant kinetic energy operator. He provides examples to show that the answer to this question can be yes when the decay of the potential depends on the curvature of the Fermi surfaces with constant kinetic energy \(T\).
