Realizing algebraic groups as automorphism groups of algebras with involutions is a well-known way of approaching these groups. In the short paper under review, the authors generalize this approach in the following direction. They consider any adjoint absolutely simple linear algebraic group \(\mathbf G\) over a field \(K\), satisfying certain conditions that are guaranteed if \(\operatorname{char}K=0\). Then for any absolutely irreducible projective representation of \(\mathbf G\) on a central simple \(K\)-algebra \(A\), they prove that \(\mathbf G\) is the identity component of \(\Aut(\pi)\) for some projector \(\pi\in\mathrm{End}_K(A)\). This is moreover used to reproduce a known result on the description of inner ideals of representations of Lie algebras.
