This work is concerned with a special case of the classification of fibrations on (round) spheres, necessarily of odd dimension, by geodesics. Such fibrations are known to be deformation retracts of the Hopf fibration. The primary result is that the same holds in the case of conformal submersions to Einstein manifolds. It is also shown that, up to isometry, the only Einstein manifold which admits such an submersion is the complex projective space with the Fubini-Study metric. The method of proof is classical. The case of a fibration with minimal fibers (instead of geodesic) is examined as well. It is shown that certain curvature conditions prevent the realization of such fibrations by conformal submersions.
