The convergence behaviour of the iterates of projections in Hilbert space (alternating projections methods) is determined, or at least influenced, by some kind of angle (Friedrichs or Dixmier angles, for instance). One might hope that for non-orthogonal projections in Hilbert spaces the situation could be similar. The aim of this nice article is twofold. In the first part, it is shown that even in Euclidean spaces the convergence of the iterates is not determined by the principal angles between the subspaces involved. In the second part, properties of the Oppenheim angle between two linear projections are investigated. We refer to [\textit{I. Oppenheim}, Isr. J. Math. 223, 343--362 (2018; Zbl 1458.46021)] for the definition of this angle and criteria for convergence of iterates of non-orthogonal projections.
