The author of this work provides an explicit construction of a variation of cuspidal Poincaré series for the (dual) Weil representation attached to a finite quadratic module \((A,Q)\) of antisymmetric weight \(k\) (i.e., \(k+\operatorname{sig}(A,Q)/2\) is odd). Just like the classical Poincaré series, the series considered in the article under review span the entire space of cusp forms, provided the weight \(k\) is sufficiently large (Theorem 1.1). In addition, these variants of Poincaré series have the big advantage over the usual classical Poincaré series of exponential type that their Fourier coefficients are rational numbers, which can be computed directly from the Fourier coefficients of an Eisenstein series in a different weight (Theorem 1.2), whose coefficients have been determined in previous work by \textit{J. H. Bruinier} and \textit{M. Kuss} [Manuscr. Math. 106, No. 4, 443--459 (2001; Zbl 1002.11040)]. Especially in weight \(3\), these results can be used to obtain interesting identities for Hurwitz class numbers (Example 4.4) or to explicitly compute Fourier expansions of certain theta lifts (Section 5).
