    The space of Lebesgue measurable essentially bounded real-valued functions on \(\left[ 0,1\right] \) is denoted by \(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] )\). The authors construct an algebraic basis of the algebra of all symmetric continuous polynomials \[ P:\left( L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] )\right)^{n}\to \mathbb{R}. \] They also describe the spectrum of the Fréchet algebra \(\mathcal{A}_{s}(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] ))\) of all symmetric real-valued functions on \(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] )\) and show that, if \(f\) is a symmetric analytic function of bounded type with real coefficients on \(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{C})}(\left[ 0,1\right] )\), then the restriction of \(f\) to \(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] \) belongs to \(\mathcal{A}_{s}(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] ))\). The converse is false by considering the function \[ \begin{array}{cc} g:L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right]) \to \mathbb{R}, & g(y)=\left\vert \int_{\left[ 0,1\right] }y(t)dt\right\vert ,\end{array} \] since \(g\in \mathcal{A}_{s}(L_{\infty }^{(\mathbb{R})}(\left[ 0,1\right] ))\) but \(g\) is not analytic.
