This work is the first part of a monograph that contains two additional parts. The present Part I consists in four chapters. Although the choice of the topics is strongly dependent on the past results of the author, several results are presented in the monograph for the first time. The first chapter is simply introductory and presents the necessary background from Functional Analysis. Chapter two is devoted to the theory of weighted Hölder spaces. In the third chapter, within the framework of weighted Hölder spaces, estimates of integral operators with homogeneous difference kernels, covering potential-type integrals and singular integrals as well as Cauchy-type integrals and double layer potentials, are considered. In the last chapter, similar estimates are deduced but now in the framework of weighted Lebesgue spaces. The systematic study performed in third and fourth chapters will be determinant in the last part of the monograph, when analyzing elliptic boundary-value problems.
