The author studies the mod \(p\) reduction of certain \(2\)-dimensional crystalline representations of the group \(\operatorname{Gal}(\overline{\mathbb{Q}}_p/\mathbb{Q}_p)\). These representations depend on a weight \(k \in \mathbb{Z}\) and a trace of Frobenius \(a_p \in \mathfrak{m}_{\overline{\mathbb{Q}}_p}\); they are denoted by \(V_{k,a_p}\). Computing the reduction mod \(p\) of \(V_{k,a_p}\) is a notoriously difficult problem, that is currently only solved for certain values of \((k,a_p)\). There are two main ways to study that reduction. One is to use the theory of \((\varphi,\Gamma)\)-modules, and the other is to use the \(p\)-adic local Langlands correspondence. The article under review uses the latter approach. The idea is that the reduction mod \(p\) of \(V_{k,a_p}\) can be read off the reduction mod \(p\) of \(\Theta_{k,a_p}\), a certain \(p\)-adic representation of \(\operatorname{GL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_p)\), that also depends on \(k\) and \(a_p\). The reviewer proved that, for a fixed \(a_p\), the reduction mod \(p\) of \(V_{k,a_p}\) is a locally constant function of \(k\), viewed as an element of weight space. The goal of the article under review is to give an explicit bound for the radius of local constancy, for certain values of \((k,a_p)\). This is achieved by studying \(\Theta_{k,a_p}\). We refer to the introduction of the article for the precise statement of the results, and a more detailed discussion of the problem of studying the reduction mod \(p\) of \(V_{k,a_p}\).
