    In the present work, rough differential equations on homogeneous spaces are studied by considering their lift to the universal envelopping algebra of post-Lie algebras. Planarly branched rough paths are introduced, as a generalization of Gubinelli's branched rough paths [\textit{M. Gubinelli}, J. Differ. Equations 248, No. 4, 693--721 (2010; Zbl 1315.60065)] where the Butcher-Connes-Kreimer Hopf algbera of non-planar decorated rooted trees is replaced with the Munthe-Kaas-Wright Hopf algebra of planar decorated rooted trees [\textit{H. Z. Munthe-Kaas} and \textit{W. M. Wright}, Found. Comput. Math. 8, No. 2, 227--257 (2008; Zbl 1147.16028)]. In particular, the authors obtain a Lie-Butcher series representation of the solution, and they show convergence of the series in the case where the vector fields are analytic and the driving noise is Lipschitz.
