Asymptotics of solutions of the nonlinear oscillator model with natural boundary conditions (Q2202715)

The author studies the solvability of the pendulum type boundary value problem, \[\phi ''+\sin (\phi )\cos (\phi )=0,\qquad \phi '(0)=\phi '(L)=-\beta,\] for positive constants, \(L\) and \(\beta\). He shows that the number of solutions depends on \(L\) and grows unboundedly as \(L\rightarrow \infty\).
